Cross-Cultural Connections

This film documents a programme of engagement activities developed by Belle Vue as part of a research project, My Country, A Journey, at the University of Manchester (funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council).

During 2014 we worked with young people at Rathbone, Manchester – a youth sector organisation providing study programmes and apprenticeships – and Z-Arts, Hulme, as part of a project about migration. We devised and facilitated filmmaking workshops for a group of students in which they produced and filmed short stories about people who had come to live and work in Manchester over the last 60 years. All the participants worked as film crew and presenters during the sessions.
